the only phrase in this song that I have not hit and is the only thing keeping me from a GS is the last phrase. that long drop of "care" i can not seem to go low enough and I end up with an okay. is there any tip that can help with the drop in pitch? |

I actually had to jump up an octave when the "care" first changes notes (from the minor third back down to the tonic). Instead of going:
-----____
caa aaare
I went:
-----____
-----
caa aaare
And that gave me enough range to complete the fall. There's also a slight pause in the fall after he's gone down by an octave, so you could probably jump back up the octave during that pause. Play around with falsetto and jumping octaves to see what works best for you, since it depends big time on your range.
By the way, this would be a question for the Technique and Gameplay Forum, not the OD Forum. _________________

ah okay thanks i'll try it out. and i had a feeling about that i just made a mistake lol. i just saw the topic on the song and thought i'd leave the question here. i've seen others ask questions on certain phrases here every now and then so i thought it was okay. sorry for the error. |

Tried Hobo's method on the "ow", but still couldn't get it.
I'm leaning more towards timing than the sound, because I just kept saying it earlier until it worked.
Now I can say ow, owwwww, oooooh, or oh and get it nearly every time.
For my calibration, I start saying it just as the gold activation section is ending (at the line, or a skitch before), and it fills almost immediately. If I'm off a bit, dragging the 'w' sound will usually fill it. |

Yeah, I usually sing this song with a somewhat low voice, but on the last phrase, I sing higher than I think I do on any other phrase, and I have never missed the last phrase since I've done that. Thats the best way I can really explain it, and just pay close attention to where your arrow is, oh and take a DEEEP breathe before that phrase, because it is easy to run out of breathe while singing that phrase, especially how high I go to get it. |
