Muchos gracias!!! It's cool, ain't it?! Like I said, nothing huge, but for me it was pretty big. I've never even been able to sniff the top of the leaderboards on anything before, so I was pretty pleased.
Incidentally, I re-upped this morning and got some more points, so I've put a little more space between us. I could have done more, but I missed the
right at the end and broke my streak. That would've added some more, and my BRE was a little shy of where I wanted it. Gonna try again tonight. I kept wondering where I was going to squeeze more points from, but somehow I got over 700 more, and there's more to be had. Giving me something to shoot for.

My Here it Goes Again Score is down to 10th. I need my working strat to get here now so I can bring it back up.
Anyways, I have very few top 10 scores. On easy FCs like OK Go, make sure that you use the right path and work on squeezing or else your scores will go down. Nice job on that. You have potential for soem nice scores if you get better at squeezing. I actually need to use that pic for my acc. thread so thanks. _________________

a thanks is in order for you DutchBoy, as thanks to your reminding of me, I just scored 142,909 and took 4th place from Draktyr by 1 point
Are there any other song that you're good at? You should try to shoot for a top 25 finish in other songs as well! _________________

Thanks!
I've pretty much been following the same path each and every time. This last time my score was like I said, over 700 higher, and it wasn't even a FC (missing the last note) but my FC that got me 21st was lower-scored. The BRE was about the same though (certainly not worth an extra 700 points). My only assumption is that I've managed to squeeze it a bit better in some places each time I've played (my scores are typically going up a tad each time).
The squeezing has been hard for me to learn because I tilt. I just can't get the finger thing down well enough to activate with my pinky. The effects switch on the Strat just annoys me so bad, that after a while I just get frustrated and stop trying. But I am trying to tilt a bit earlier than I usually do, and I'm getting the activation much closer to the starting points than I have been before, and I'm trying to nail down an extra note at the end just a bit more than I was before, and it seems to be working (to an extent) because that's really the only thing I've done differently the last couple of days while playing the song. Course I could be wrong.
At any rate, you're welcome for the picture. |

Just couldn't leave me in 11th, could you? Had to drop me to 12th, didn't you?!
TBH, I've only ever played RB (or GH for that matter) just for the fun factor of it. I've never really cared much for score one way or the other; I just strum and flail away and whatever I get is what I get. I'm usually good for beating Hard mode (what I usually play on) and about half of expert before it get to be too much for me on sightread.
But I got bit by the score bug a couple of days ago, so I've just now started to really try to figure out the best paths to take, and just now begun to explore the whole squeezing thing.
I'm not really all that great a player. I just don't have the hours to invest in practice (what with a wife and 3 kids at home) to get better at a lot of the harder songs where there are a lot of HO/POs. Not to mention I think I'm too old to have the reflexes to do it *wink* So there are probably very few I'm going to be able to FC...
That being said though, I do have these FC'd so far on expert:
and I'm close to FC'ing Wave of Mutilation.
Much of my time has been spent just mucking around with the game and playing through some different modes. Hopefully now that I can go back and play guitar some more, I'll add some more to that list. There's about 4 or 5 other songs that I got 5* on my first time through the expert mode, on sightread alone, so with a little more practice on them... |

12/21 --
Two new FCs for me this afternoon -- I've been trying on these for a while, but could not get over the 98/99% percent hump with them, and then I had a break through. I actually FC'd 'Blitzkrieg' like 3 times in a row, and then moved on to 'Wave' and nailed that one too.
I let up far too early on a few of the held notes in 'Wave' or my score would have been higher there. Would have been good enough for #26 on the XBL boards (had I been connected up).
Brings my total GS to 9. I'm going to be slow about this, can ya tell?
